Special Events

Colorado is one of the most beautiful and scenic states in the US. Events both locally in Boulder and in the majestic Rocky Mountains have been organized to allow ICLS participants to enjoy this amazing location. Tours have been arranged with local guides and companies, and include transportation. Descriptions of the events are provided below, including date, times, cost, minimum and maximum number of participants, cancellation policies, and any specific requirements.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Horseback Ride in Estes Park

Depart from CU: 7:30am
Return to CU: 12:00pm

Cost: $86.00/person

A spectacular horseback ride through Estes Park in the Rocky Mountain National Park. The trail ride will include views of the Continental Divide, Long's Peak, and Estes Valley on the way up, and of Big Thompson Canyon on the way back. Continue down into the canyon to Eagle Valley for the final part of the ride. Gentle horses for any type of rider. High altitude terrain. (Transportation included.)

Boulder Sunset

Boulder Sunset Hike

Depart from CU: 6:00pm
Return to CU: 8:00pm

$30.00/person

Beautiful views of the Boulder and the Flatirons just as the sun is setting. A bus ride to an easy to moderate hike along the famous Mesa Trail, which traverses the Boulder foothills. A leisurely stroll along the trail, with plenty of time to stop and admire the views. This 1-2 mile hike is suitable for children ages 8 and up. Due to the unpredictability of afternoon thunderstorms, the tour may change into a bus ride through stunning Boulder Canyon and up to the quaint town of Nederland. (Transportation included.)
